Carsen Gray
Hailing from Haida Gwaii, BC, Carsen Gray is indigenous (Haida) and mixed descent and is no stranger to a life of art, music, and entertainment. In 2017 Carsen Gray released her debut self titled album, which garnished her with an award - "Best New Artist" presented by SiriusXM, at the Indigenous Music Awards. Carsen Gray also received 2 nominations "Best Pop Album" and Best Radio Single for "Supernatural"
With a recent start in her professional music career, Carsen became a regional finalist in the CBC 2015 Searchlight contest which motivated her to work on her Debut Album, with determination, she began her journey of recording and performing. In June 2017, on National Aboriginal Day, Carsen performed for the Aboriginal Peoples Television network (APTN) Aboriginal Day Live in Vancouver, B.C which propelled her into a realm of appreciated live performance, which she collaborated with her father, Robert Gray, known to have played along side Nick Gilder in the band "Sweeney Todd", and niece of Bobby Taylor, most noted for his discovery and mentoring of Michael Jackson - The King of Pop.
Following the debut release of singles/videos, "Supernatural" and "Wanna See You" reached number 1 on the NCI FM (Winnipeg MB) Indigenous Music Countdown
